A review by Andrew Blackstock on BM&AG's Black History Month Trail 2001.

The black history month trail at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is about the sculptures, paintings and the traditional styles that black and asian cultures have.

Its a good idea that the museum is doing something like this because its giving people from different ethnic backgrounds the chance to see what black and asian culture's are like and how they are different to others.

There are many different galleries in the museum which you can look at including a black hair and beauty gallery. In this gallery it shows the different hair styles that black women and black men have.It also shows the traditional decorations that African women have on their body. This gallery should definetly be seen if you do come to the museum.

Overall the black history month trail was very good and the map made it easy for me to find my way around the museum.
