Innovative new galleries at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery will tell the global story of a city and its people, from prehistory to the present day.
It will transform the top floor of Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery to create five new galleries telling the story of the city of Birmingham and its people. Drawing on the museum’s internationally significant Birmingham History collections the displays will encompass trade and industry, civic history and architecture, local topography, manufacture and design. The long history of Birmingham’s diverse communities will be vividly explored through themes of migration, work and social life.
The new galleries will open in Autumn 2012. To find out more about the project and how you can get involved visit the Birmingham Museum and Art Galleries website.
